Star Trek Into Darkness is an extremely entertaining science fiction adventure with a storyline that further plays on Kirk’s inexperience as a Captain and commander for the Federation. His First Officer can easily replace him, Kirk himself practically acknowledges this issue, something the older Kirk from a different timeline could have never done.

The events in the JJ Abrams series of Star Trek are a little jumbled up as we meet old friends of Kirk’s that in earlier versions the audience was meant to meet later on. It’s good fun and helps inject a little bit of originality in the background story.

The Federation is up against a threat ever since the attack from Nero (2009 Star Trek) and recognizes its own weakness and is fast tracking a secret weapon designed to deal with the Klingons and Romulans.

After all unlike the older timeline Vulcan is almost gone, New Vulcan is being rebuilt from the ashes and their fleet cannot supplement Earth’s own.

Both the Vulcans and Humans are shown to be making compromises. These are cosmetic since for all practical purposes it appears that the classic TV series is now a film series with a mega budget per episode as

Abrams retraces the steps of his predecessors while updating the storyline with far more energy and action.

True to form the new version of the classic Star Trek has more of Kirk and less of Jean Luc Picard.

The entire movie from start to finish is heavily soaked with action sequences from Earth all the way to the Neutral Zone and there are plot twists and turns to make you puzzle on who will remain standing as the story approaches the finish line.

The bad guys are the surprise here and
