Although there is no separate built-in amplifier or mixer the acoustic range is first rate, the dynamic response is shocking, the loudspeakers pumping the music audibly from the first click of the notched volume dial.
We can’t really compare this unit to the original Art Deco turntables and radios of the 1920s - 1940s era, our impression is that this unit far out-weighs their performance in sound quality and durability.
The table top box we received has been put through its paces for one year and thus far zero hiccups.
The unit feels sturdy and is a pleasure to use and operate.
While the unit does not have a built in MP3 player the system is designed to recognize and operate the MP3 format and you can readily plug in an MP3 player and play your favorite files through this Crosley center.
During our evaluation period, we noted that Crosley has been revising the styling of this class of turntables
