The 2013 Nissan 370 Z and NISMO Edition Presented by West Coast Midnight Run

Lots of automotive critics are unanimous, the Nissan 370 Z is an aging design that has not kept up with the current crop of muscle cars, not in the horsepower category nor with the price point.

The top of the line NISMO edition two-seater from the Land of the Rising Sun only pushes 350 bhp from its 3.7 L DOHC V-6 engine coupled to a 6-speed manual shifter or a seven-speed automatic. The 2013 370 Z is a sixth generation design that has practically zero changes from its previous models. Nissan is working on an all-new design for 2016 but don’t expect lots of modifications for a winning configuration that made U.S. News magazine Top Cars’ List in 2013. The materials include carbon

fiber components and aluminum panels designed to minimize overall weight. The result is a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, a hair slower than the Mustang Boss 302 coming in at 4.1 seconds (although Motor Trend claims 4.0 on its tests).

The layout of the cockpit, according to several industry reviewers, has an unusually higher quotient of soft leather touches and elegant design hemmed in with a BOSE 8-speakers premium sound system and bluetooth hands free phone system, all for a price point, we saved the best for last, that barely breaks the $30,000 MSRP level for the 370 Z base edition, while the NISMO edition posts an MSRP of $43,000.

The 370 Z is available as a coupe as well as a convertible roadster.
