Metro Last Light Video Game Review - West Coast Midnight Run

Metro Last Light is a new video game from a smaller and independent European-based publisher. The game’s backstory is far more evolved and burrows into creating an atmosphere of realistic apocalyptic characters, fostering with the gamer an emotional connection to the situation. This game’s pacing is designed to tantalize the players with tension as much as it does with graphic scenery. The world as depicted on the surface is designed to be part of the entertainment package for the player as is the action underground in tunnels and buried infrastructure following a massive nuclear fallout.

The story blends a real world scenario of nuclear war with humans attempting to wipe out alien invaders, there is a touch of The Terminator in the setup yet the aliens are mostly gone and the player has to clean up any remaining invaders as well as deal with human turned dangerous mutants from the radioactive fallout. The game allows the

player to be have a choice of weapons and yet not be completely overpowering or invincible. In-story sequences allows the player to collate information and clues without being removed from the action.

The background characters have been created with authenticity in mind and interact with each other on a realistic level. Nudity, sex and prostitution are also part of the scenarios woven into the storylines.

Ammunition, especially military grade, and getting re-supplied is a significant part of the choices each player makes and how long each game lasts as they are scarce.

The transitions from one set to another are superior and flow extremely well into each other as part of the storylines. Metro is a highly rated game for mature audiences.
