Star Wars’ latest video game from Lucas Arts was in development for several years, designed to be grittier, more realistic and in line with other current combat/military operations video games.
The underlying approach was less lightsabers, Jedi Knight powers and Force and more blasters, rifles and traditional weapons.
Development of the game for release on Microsoft Windows and Xbox One was ongoing until most recently in 2012, when at E 3, the third annual Electronic Expo, a sneak peek was unveiled along with the gameplay environment.
As of the first quarter of 2013, following the purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd. and all of its divisions by the Disney group, Lucas Arts was subject to layoffs as part of restructuring the entire organization. Disney announced it is planning on formatting Lucas Arts as a licensing department for its
